For Jacqueline Hogan Couples Counselling, we built a client journey that moved people from search and awareness into trust, enquiry, structured support, and ongoing relationship growth.
Real Lesson From a Real Couples Cousnelling Business
Why I Help Couples Counsellors Build Powerful Packages
For more than 10 years, I’ve worked alongside my partner, couples counsellor Jacqueline Hogan, helping build and support Jacqueline Hogan Couples Counselling.
I’ve learnt a thing or two during that time, and I’m here to share those lessons and help you too.
Jacqui brought her counselling expertise, and I brought my background in IT, systems and strategy to the business. Together, we built the client experience around her work.
We developed a program and client journey designed to help couples find their way back to each other, rebuild trust, experience Jacqui’s approach and access deeper support in a way that suited their needs.
Jacqui’s package and business have been refined over that time, and I now share that experience through my work as a business coach for couples counsellors – perhaps someone just like you.
The System We Built
The system grew over time around Jacqui’s work as a couples counsellor and the real needs of the clients coming through her practice.
Website
The website helped couples feel understood, learn about Jacqui’s approach, explore their relationship and get in touch as a clear next step.
Content and Advertising
Helpful articles, search visibility and Google Ads helped people who were already looking for relationship support discover Jacqui and begin building a connection.
Enquiry and First Session
A free enquiry option made it easy for couples to reach out.
The first paid session had a clear purpose. It gave Jacqui space to hear both partners, understand what was happening and recommend a helpful next step.
It also gave the couple a real experience of her approach and gave Jacqui an appropriate opportunity to explain the key details of her program in the context of their unique situation.
A Program for Deeper Work
Jacqui’s Save My Marriage Program gave couples a visible pathway they could easily understand. They could see what they were receiving, why the steps were important and how the different pieces worked together.
This gave the work a strong backbone while helping couples understand the level of commitment and support involved.
Information and Enrolment
A simple brochure gave couples the key details they needed and plenty of time to read through them after the first session, without pressure.
Follow-up conversations answered their questions and helped them make a thoughtful decision about beginning the program.
Once enrolled, the onboarding process began. Couples could get started right away and were supported through each stage of the journey.
Client Resources
Over time, we developed videos, audios, exercises, guides, workbooks, card-based tools and other practical resources.
Each resource had a purpose in the client journey. The full suite made the program adaptable to different couples and the ways they preferred to learn and be supported.
These resources helped couples stay engaged and continue working on their relationship between sessions.
Ongoing Support
Ongoing support options gave couples a way to continue their good work beyond the main program. They also helped ease the pressure of feeling that everything had to be resolved by the end of a fixed program period.
Why the System Worked
The system worked because the pieces were connected.
The website built trust. The content created visibility. Advertising helped people discover the practice. The enquiry pathway made the first step clear.
The first session gave couples a real experience of Jacqui’s work, helped clarify what might be happening and identified the kind of support that might suit them best.
The program supported the couple and made the pathway visible. They could picture the outcomes they wanted and understand the steps involved.
The brochure and enrolment conversation helped couples understand the offer and feel comfortable making an informed decision.
The onboarding process, resources and simple systems then supported the delivery.
Each step paved the way for the next one.
This made the business easier to explain and gave clients a calm, supportive experience from their first Google search through to intensive therapy sessions, at-home practice, between-session support and ongoing care.
What This Taught Me
Get Clear on Your Offer and the Journey
A website works best when the practitioner is clear about who they help, what their deeper work involves and what happens after the first session.
When those things, among others, are clear, your website, content and message are more likely to land well, be understood and acted on.
A Package Is a Complete Experience
A powerful package brings the sessions, resources, support, goals and wider client journey together.
This helps your clients understand what they are receiving and helps you deliver with greater clarity and confidence.
Marketing and Delivery Belong Together
The message people see before they enquire should help them imagine the experience they will receive after they begin.
Using elements of your delivery in your marketing can help your message land more strongly, connect with suitable clients and feel authentic.
Resources Work Best with a Clear Purpose
A worksheet, video, guide or interactive tool becomes valuable when it helps with a specific pain point your clients are struggling with.
The right resource, in the wider context of a package, can make an idea easier to understand and give clients something helpful to turn to between sessions.
Simple Systems Support Everyone
Simple processes and systems help with bookings, follow-ups, payments, resources, support and more.
Done well, they reduce the time you spend explaining, copying and pasting, chasing your tail or feeling overwhelmed.
They also help your clients receive a more consistent and professional experience.
Why I Created Powerful Packages
Moving to packages in early 2017 was a game changer for Jacqui, and the way clients were supported.
I want the same kind of shift for you because I know first-hand what it can mean.
I’m now in a position to help other couples counsellors and relationship therapists package their services and support their clients in a more meaningful way.
